Summary

Performs bench assembly operations. Standard hours worked are Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Follow company procedures and directives.
  • Places parts in specified relationship to each other.
  • Bolt, clip, screw, cement, or otherwise fasten parts together.
  • Assemble electrical, electronic systems, or mechanical systems and install components, subassemblies, wiring, or assemblies, using rivets, bolts, soldering, or adhesives.
  • Assemblers will be working as part of a team, so effective communication with other assemblers, engineers, and supervision is vital.
  • Tends to machines, such as an arbor press, riveting tool, UV printer, hydraulic filling station or a pneumatic gauge calibration stand to perform force fitting, fastening operations, and calibration.
  • Work at bench on tasks as different job orders move through the facility.

* For all of the above, productivity needs to be within the allotted routed times and error rates need to stay below 2%.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical documentation, engineering blue-prints, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
